George E. Bingham joined NAI Mertz Corporation as Vice President in 2009, bringing over 23 years experience in commercial real estate transactions. George focuses on the seniors housing sector, which is comprised of independent living, assisted living and Alzheimer’s care, and skilled nursing facilities. He represents both buyers and sellers of development parcels as well as mature operating facilities. George also consults with landowners, providing assistance in the zoning process and in the pre-development phase of construction projects.
Since 2005, George has represented Capital Senior Living (NYSE: CSU) and privately held Brightview Seniors Living as their site selection consultant for the Northeastern U.S. and Northern New Jersey, respectively. George previously spent thirteen years in the investment banking sector (Lazard Frères and Lepercq, de Neuflize & Co.), most of which focused on financing and M&A for seniors housing and hospitality companies. Prominent clients included Holiday Retirement Corporation, Club Med and Accor.
George acted as sales agent in the recently announced $106.5 million purchase of a seniors housing portfolio at Juniper Communities by CARE Investment Trust (OTC: CVTR).
George graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and obtained an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Columbia University. He has held his New York State real estate license since 1999, and is also licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
George is a native New Jerseyan, having spent most of his youth in Glen Ridge, NJ, and now resides in Manhattan with his wife and two boys. While he has clients and assignments in the NAI Mertz markets of Central NJ and Southeastern PA, George actively works on seniors housing transactions throughout the U.S.
